In March of 2011, the island of Japan was devastated by the fourth largest earthquake in history. The earthquake and subsequent tsunami resulted in the complete meltdown of the Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear powerplant. A nuclear catastrophe of this scale has not been seen since Chernobly and the effects are still being felt today. Aizu, tells the story of the disaster through the eyes of local snowboarders, Futa and Hiroki, and shows how snowboarding, surfing, and skateboarding are central to this vibrant and resilient community as they continue to rebuild.

Capturing a small contingent of the Season community in the Pacific Northwest: young + old, farmers, shapers, welders, men + women. Individuals who craft with different tools off hill, and whether skier or snowboarder, share in common the joy of sliding down hills.

Artist Jason Keam strives to bring people together and give them a creative voice through his community impressionism movement. This short film documents his journey to create a new sculpture with the participation of diverse communities across the US as part of the TED and uni POSCA Artist Residency. From coast to coast, the film highlights the power of community, inclusiveness, color and collective uplift.
